Brewing Ideas Through Banter...
discussed solutions over a great pizza
And decided to approach the menu as both a design and behavioral tool.
Our consultation focused on how people read menus, how decisions are made at the table, and where attention naturally falls. This informed the hierarchy, spacing, typography, and grouping of items. High-margin and signature dishes were given clearer emphasis, while unnecessary clutter was removed.
The visual design was kept restrained and appetising, allowing the food to remain the hero. Typography and layout were chosen to support legibility in real dining conditions, not just on screen.
More than a redesign, it was a practical intervention that aligned design decisions with everyday restaurant realities.
A menu is often the most important brand touchpoint in a restaurant. It sets expectations, influences behaviour, and directly impacts what gets ordered.
For Origin Bistro, the objective was to create a menu that felt considered and easy to navigate, while still doing the quiet work of steering attention and supporting the business.

When we were approached by Origin Bistro, like many growing food brands, Origin Bistro had strong offerings but an underperforming menu. Too much information competed for attention, key items were easy to miss, and the overall structure made ordering feel heavier than it needed to be.
To us, we the challenge was simple' yet needed to be dealt with carefully: not to add more, but to edit with intent. The menu needed to read better, flow logically, and feel aligned with the brand’s personality.
